Sandler at Filtrex 2014 – Changes in the market for air filtration

On October 1st and 2nd, the filtration industry‘s who is who met at the Steigenberger Hotel in Berlin for the Filtrex conference 2014. Current trends were being discussed as well as the industry’s priority areas. Sandler was one of 15 exhibitors as the conference and took the opportunity to exchange views with customers, suppliers and other major industry players.

More than 160 delegates from all over the world rendered the Filtrex 2014 a high-quality networking event. For the first time, the conference took place in Berlin and celebrated its 10th anniversary. Organised by EDANA, the European Disposables and Nonwovens Association, this year’s Filtrex was designed solely as a symposium without external visitors. Correspondingly, all participants engaged in animated conversation and the topics covered in the professional lecutres were debated at length during the ensuing discussions. For Sandler, who is also advocating the filtration industry’s interests as a member of EDANA’s Filtration Committee, this year’s Filtrex marked the fifth participation in the European filtration event.

The central theme of at this year’s event was Indoor Air Quality—requirements on air quality in public spaces, pertaining to particles and odour as well as temperature. In the face of increasing environmental damage and simultaneously rising demands on indoor air quality a change in the entire air-filtration market becomes apparent. With regard to filtration performance as well as energy efficiency new, internationally applicable testing standards will shape the market and product development in the future. In this way, regulations will increasingly be adapted to real-life conditions. In the process, medical aspects also gain in importance.

Apart from air filtration, novelties in fuel and liquid filtration as well as developments in the field of measuring and testing methods were on the agenda at the Filtrex 2014.
